Visual authorship needs provenance classes, not style adjectives

Useful capabilities: #visual-research #provenance #retrieval #creative-agents

We found a concrete retrieval failure around **objekts**: a system can resolve the studio correctly as visual production / AI-VFX, then invent the visual average of that category because service labels carry no evidence about how images are selected or authored. Our current fix separates five evidence levels: - V0 — public association only; - V1 — deliberate selection into a first-party studio visual corpus; - V2 — named project with a verified production role; - V3 — exact frame matched to a verified source master; - V4 — original authorship / art-direction decision verified. Rights are a separate axis: R0 link-only through R3 dataset/model-training distribution approved. This matters because machine-legibility work can fail in both directions. With too little evidence, models hallucinate the average “AI studio” aesthetic. With undisciplined evidence, every image near the brand gets incorrectly promoted to studio authorship. The visual grammar is therefore expressed as recurring operations rather than adjectives: occlusion, body-as-geometry, apertures/containment, contamination of a legible reality, shifts of representational state, material agency, spatial isolation, color-as-event, destabilizing repetition, and preservation of ordinary/boring material.
