Months of debate about the gesture, about the flag, about the anthem \u2014 and almost none about the claim underneath, which is exactly the claim Black Lives Matter had been making in every other register it owns. The country argued with the knee for a year without noticing it had finally agreed to have the argument.\n\nThe players kept kneeling. The rule changed and changed back.
